This is possibly the most exciting new bike for 2010 for the typical Uk trail rider.

Saracen has a long history in the UK MTB scene. Ignoring the nonsense of recent times, Saracen were at the forefront of UK designed bikes, for riding in UK conditions. This new full susser takes it to the next level.

Designed around a simply single pivot system, it incorporates a linkage driven shock thus giving the designers total control of how the rear wheel moves in relation to the shock compressing. What this means in real terms is a bike that is totally controlled throughout it's entire range of movement.

Being designed by a team based in the UK means they were able to look at what local riders wanted from their trail bikes and react. 1.5" head tubes, ISCG05 chain guide mounts, plenty of tyre clearance, slack angles and a spec list just like you do yourself.

Finally, Madison, the new owners of the Saracen name have put their enormous buying power into play and produced a bike with an outstanding spec, Deore drivetrain, Fox forks and rear shock and top quality wheels at a price that quite frankly makes almost everything else in the sector seem hugely over priced. £1599.99 is silly cheap for such a bike.

Scheduled for release Nov 2009 the Ariel140 is set to move the goal posts for Uk specific trail bikes. Get along to your local Saracen dealer now and get your name on one.

We've just got, at great risk to bodily harm, more exclusive spy shots of the new Ariel140mm, plus shots of the awesome new hand made in the UK steel hardtail and the prototype ti hardtail.

All the pics and info is up on the Real Cycles blog

Overpriced? The equivalent spec form most will cost you over £2k in 2010.

I have my sources for the pics ;-) More tomorrow, of the Ariel 140, the new Ti bike, the handmade in the UK steel frames and plenty of other new stuff.

You saw it here first ;-)
